History

We believe in… the next chapter

Ours is a restless history, one that’s always looking forwards. We move to where we feel God is leading us, constantly listening for where we should move next.

We have a unique story to tell. As a grass-roots movement, we grew organically out of local church outreach networks during the 1980s. It was here that we developed our skill in finding like-minded people and organisations to partner with. We learned about transformation through training, and about how to support faith communities to be relevant in their localities.

It wasn’t long before we were led into forging partnerships overseas. In the early nineties, Sierra Leone was a country to get out of, with a bitter civil war raging. But that’s where we were led and now we work there with some of the most inspiring leaders that we’ve ever met. Leaders who as children were forced to fight as boy-soldiers but now act as worthy role-models for a new generation, acting out of a faith-filled spirit of hope, forgiveness and transformation.

Our history is one of partnering with all races and all faiths – with those who empower people. LifeLine Network seeks to bring real change in ways determined by local people. It’s about improving lives both spiritually and materially. Our history is living and it unfolds day after day in communities across the nations of the world.
